Experiences: Lesson 1 Task: An Alphabet of Accessibility

D – Colourblind: He would have issues differentiating between the colours on the graphs or power points and if the colours are too similar, parts of images could be lost completely.

G – Dyslexia: Reading text on a screen would be difficult because often it is too small and not widely spaced, making it difficult to see individual letters and words.

H –Fluent English speaker who cannot understand idioms: Web pages are not generally written in simple English unless they are geared toward children and as someone who has trouble understanding idioms that we all take for granted, it would be helpful if the instructions and content were in plain English.

M – Can’t consistently tell her left from her right: There is no concrete object to guide her to the correct part of the screen and therefore the opportunity for mistake is heightened.

L – Lazy Eye: She won’t be able to see many of the graphics/optical illusions to the full potential and will have more difficulty seeing certain aspects that may be important for the usage of the site.
