This course is an introduction to the principles and practices of remediating inaccessible PDF documents.
This course will cover:
- the guidelines that are used to evaluate a PDFs level of accessibility.
- PDF tags - the primary method for making PDF documents accessible.
- tools used in evaluating a PDF’s accessibility.
- the remediation process for inaccessible PDF documents using two approaches:
- using Adobe Acrobat Pro and (optionally) the CommonLook PDF Global Access plug-in for Adobe Acrobat Pro (referred to as“CommonLook PGA”) , and
- converting PDFs to HTML documents.
These lessons, related resource libraries, and quizzes will help to prepare you for remediation work in the growing technical field of digital accessibility.
Note: Before completing this course, we suggest that you first complete the Web Accessibility Auditing course. This will provide you with important background information.
